Symptom

• Configure a Need4Viz tile (trend or progress) with a custom picture

Environment

• SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform : all 4.2 Webi versions
• Need4Viz : from 2021.1.0

Resolution

To configure a Need4Viz trend or progress tile with a custom picture :

1. Open a new Webi document and insert a Need4Viz progress tile (or trend). By default, no picture is displayed 
2. First option : your picture is accessible via an URL (on the web). Open the global settings, in the extended parameters /  Design, and fill the Background image with the value URL(your_url). For example :
3. The image is now insert on your tile. Play with the settings (position, repetition, size) to make the better render of your picture.
4. Second option : your picture is on local. You have to put it on the Need4Viz webapp, in the folder ~N4VCustomElements\res\images
5. Once it's done, you can simply call it in the parameter, with simply the name (and the part of picture you want if it is a svg picture with multi parts). For example : svg_sample.svg#shape-apis-view 
6. The image is now insert on your tile. Play with the settings (position, repetition, size) to make the better render of your picture 
   

Attachments

You can use the attached sample svg image to test. Rename it as svg_sample.svg once downloaded. Put it in your Need4Viz webapp folder (as mentionned above).
