Symptom

• During the installation of a Need4Viz patch or hotfix, nothing seems happend. In the Windows Event log the following Windows message (or similar) is displayed : Activation of app Microsoft.Windows.Apprep.ChxApp_cw5n1h2txyewy!App failed with error: This app can't be activated by the Built-in Administrator. See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional information.
  
  

Reason and Prerequisites

Environment:

• Need4Viz : all versions - Windows
  

Steps To Reproduce:

1. Run a setup of Need4Viz on a Windows server
2. Nothing happend
3. Open the Windows Event Log
4. The error message is displayed : Activation of app Microsoft.Windows.Apprep.ChxApp_cw5n1h2txyewy!App failed with error: This app can't be activated by the Built-in Administrator. See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional information.

Cause:

• the local security policy for Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator Account is not enabled on the Windows server.

Solution

You have two solutions to enable the Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator Account.

Solution 1

1. Press Windows + R keys.
2. In the run dialogue box, enter gpedit.msc and click OK.
3. Navigate to Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policy > Security Options.
4. Locate and open the User Account Control: Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator Account.
5. Under Local Security Setting tab select Enable.
6. Click on Apply and OK to save your changes.

Solution 2

Create a local user with admin rights and try again to run the setup.
